Barack in the U.S.S.A.

ALT. TITLE: A Maverick, a Hockey-Mom, a Jackass and the Messiah walk into a bar…

Ah, here we stand on the precipice of history. Either we get our first female Vice President, who sadly John McCain cannot even raise the roof for, or Barack H. Obama becomes the first President of the U.S.S.A. (for the slower of you out there, that’s the United Socialist States of America), thus robbing the olde United States of its first black President.

I never thought I would say this, but I truly hope Obama is a greedy, corrupt, say whatever it takes to get elected politician. But my biggest fear is that he is not; that he is actually sincere. He hasn’t apologized for his socialist rhetoric, and thanks to the national media he’s never had to. He may actually be the first candidate who ran on a platform of CHANGE who actually meant it.

In 2004, I had gotten to a point of utter frustration with the Kerry/Edwards supporters, that I almost wished he had gotten elected so his supporters would get exactly what they deserved. I am almost at that point now.

If he does indeed get elected, (and believe me I am not naive enough to believe that one man will be able to effect the wholesale change that he preaches, but he will get alot of help from the Congress) I am as eager to write my blog Are You Happy Now, Assholes?  as you will be to read it sometime next year.

To demonstrate that I am not simply looking at things with my Red State Glasses on, I do have to say that Obama’a camp did a far better job of running his campaign than McCain’s did with his. Barack has come off more presidential than McCain especially at the end. I mean, who thought it would be a good idea for Johnny Mac to go on SNL and appear with Tina Fey and make jokes about losing? But, after all of that, if McCain does win, the feeling that will warm my heart watching the look of disbelief on Obama’s arrogant face will rival the feelings I had when my three children were born.
