Removing The Plank From My Own Eye

It’s funny, everytime Sean Penn or Tim Robbins or some such actor or actress takes the opportunity of accepting an award to voice their political views, I start to shake involuntarily.  “What the hell is it about actors that they think they deserve to be heard on important matters,” I think to myself, “who the hell cares what you think.”

Okay that wasn’t funny, this is the funny part, or the ironic part anyway. I’ve been not selling tee shirts online since July of last year (well, my whole life actually), and in that time for some unknown reason, I have spewed my political views as frequently and uncontrollably as a Hollywood star. What the hell is it about politics that makes people feel obligated to infect people with their opinion? I’m as guilty as Barbra Streisand. The only difference is I am usually right.

I just wanted to let you guys know I am aware of the irony of my own hypocrisy, and perfectly willing to call myself out on such things.

  1. I guess star types think that they’re utilizing the opportunity on a grand stage to spew political vomit.

I think that instead of holding the Oscars for movies, we should hold the Regans for politicians! Then politicians can stand on stage with a golden bobble head of Ron Regan spewing their political barf! At least they’ll be wearing tuxedos!

  2. Well, I guess you’re honest about it. I hate how they all think because they act they know everything and are somehow of higher political intellect than everyone else.
