2009 NFL Office Pool Picks – Week 1

Let me just say if you are depending on my picks to win your office pool… sorry.  But I did have Superbowl XLIII nailed, score and all, until the last 30 seconds or so.  And I’m still not convinced Holmes got both feet down.  Bitter much?

Anyway, here are my office pool picks for week 1.  All picks are straight up, no point spread.

Steelers over Titans.  Pittsburgh at home, at night.  You can’t pick against that.
Falcons over Dolphins.  Falcons are home, and I look for Ryan to build on last year.
Ravens over Chiefs.  Seemed like a no-brainer.
Eagles over Panthers. 3 ESPN guys picked the Eagles to go to the Superbowl. If people tell Donovan he’s good, he plays well. I look for the Eagles offense to roll, then possibly end up in a shoot out if their defense can’t hold.
Bengals over Broncos. Man, that’s a tough one.
Vikings over Browns. Mangini thinks his way out of a win. Favre’s longest completion needs only to be a hand-off to Adrian Peterson.
Texans over Jets. This one could go either way, just couldn’t take the rookie QB
Colts over Jaguars.
Saints over Lions. Brees throws for 1,000 yards.
Cowboys over Bucs. It’s not December, so that bodes well for the ‘boys.
49ers over Cardinals. Just a hunch
Giants over Redskins. Close early, then Giants’ running attack wears the ‘skins down.
Seahawks over Rams.
Packers over Bears. Another tough one.
Patriots over Bills. Sorry TO, but this one seemed pretty easy.
Chargers over Raiders. Chargers definitely get off to a quicker start than last year.

Good luck to all you office poolers out there.
